Re: Hes gotta go
Not defending Allardyce, and not sure of the exact timeline, but I thought Valencia took a nasty knock first and after a few minutes Cole was told to warm up and be ready to come on.

Then Noble got involved in a scuffle and we needed to bring him off, it may be that CFC was ready and so he brought him on but wanted to consider our options about who would replace Noble.

Unfortunately CFC then done his hamstring.

Pretty unusual circumstances.

Noble had to come off, you are right...and even the most critical of Anti-Nolanites would have to admit that for the last 10 minutes at 0-2 up, he would have been a better option than ANY Striker.

It was a mental substitution and not Sams first nor his last I doubt.

I dont usually dig Sam out, but he fucked that up big style because from the moment Cole came on, we allowed Spurs to piss all over us and that was because we conceded the midfield and the Fatman thought we had won it already.

Re: Hes gotta go
I would rather have seen Collins come on, to shut up shop. But then if we had still drawn 2-2, that would have been wrong also.

If he had not take Noble off, and he got a 2nd yellow, that would also have been wrong.

"Noble was removed to be more attacking"

You lot are brainwashing your selves, just like the religious dogmatists reality is replaced with "truth", quite fascinating really.

So Sam replaces a very hard-working combative midfielder who was directly involved in both goals and was bossing the midfield with a Striker who has seen better days. (Sorry Carlton, love the bones of ya)

We had DONE the job, we needed to shut shop, instead he wants to carry on playing attacking football at the expense of Midfield cohesion.

The biggest problem with Sam is that when you want him to approach the game in an Attacking style, he plays low defensive line, wingers and one attacker and when you are 0-2 up, away at Spurs he thinks..."I'll get a third" and goes fucking banzai !

The things that conspire against us at every turn seem to come from tactical naivety or sheer stupidity.

Re: Hes gotta go
Every time we either draw or lose the same people post on here saying he picked the wrong team, used the wrong tactics, poor substitutions
If that's the case, we should be unbeaten this season.
Of course he make mistakes like players do ,as was the case with Song yesterday.
Get real FFS we've only lost seven league games to date.

Dont be silly, some of the numbskulls on here would still be moaning ;-)

And no it wasnt Sam's fault (the 2 goals) this, things just conspired against us.

Funny you mention that. The only bloke to say the same as me was a Geordie lad.

However 'Bolton Pete' LOVES him.

We are about to finish top ten and sell out every home game so of course he will get a new 2 or 3 yr deal

Re: Hes gotta go
I'm not going to defend the substitutions because I wouldn't have made the same changes that he did and I didn't agree with them. Although I do think he was right to take off Noble off because at that moment in time he was one tackle away from a red.

All I am saying is that we will never know the outcome if he'd have done things any differently because the pressure was going to come anyway because they were the home team and 0-2 down.

Whether a different substitution would have been a better option or not I don't know and neither do you.

The substitutions may or may not have been a factor in the final outcome and I won't argue that. We can debate the substitutions all day long, but the fact of the matter is that the two errors did indeed cost us the game so that isn't up for debate.

You're not wrong but on paper it does look like he's done a good job. The only people I know outside of West Ham who slate the oaf are those whose clubs he's previously managed.

Re: Hes gotta go
The blokes at work think we are deluded twats to want Sam gone...But they dont watch us every week.

Sam is a safe bet and an easy options but we will Never make Europe with him a he is his own worst enemy.

What makes me laugh is how many posters on WHO stop the game at a certain point. Like for example.... 73minutes....and then say IF THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN....and then award us a win in fantasy world, whilst crediting Fat Sam for it, still with the realms of fantasy.

Makes me laugh when people like Glenn cannot see an obvious pattern over months, and their memory only allows them to recall the last game.

I can blame him for us losing our shape and letting them back into the game thanks to yet another pathetic substitution.
Carry on gargling his muck though.

Glenn - Can I blame him for the bizarre/negative substitutions that completely changed the course of the game?!

The Kronic 2:46 Mon Feb 23

Haha.

I don't see how you can blame Allardyce for Adrian having a mid-air fit and Song for crashing into the back of Kane.

If those errors were not made it would have been 0-2 and no one would be moaning.
